Emerging technology is enabling us to develop our ability to track teams when they are on expedition. In addition to the satellite phone, which remains the primary method of communicating in an emergency, True Adventure expeditions now carry tracking devices.
As the understanding of the use of tracking technology advances, we will increasingly be able to improve our ability to monitor the team's position as they move through the phases of the expedition. The developing ability to obtain a pin point position will increase reaction time in an emergency.
