Mongolia
Mongolia is a vast land, the size of Western Europe, with deserts, mountains, lakes, gorges and wild windswept grasslands. Ancient buildings and Buddhist temples can be found across the rugged landscape which was the birth place of the nomad Temujin who became the visionary leader Chinggis Khaan who ruled the largest contiguous empire in history.
The country is a paradise for adventure travellers, and the wide range of activities will satisfy the ambitions of all team members. Mongolia is one of the last horse based cultures and children learn to ride in their very early years. The hospitality of the Mongolian people is legendary.
The pace of life is slow and teams will sense that they are not in just another country - they have stepped back to another century. If you want space then Mongolia is the place to visit. It has a population density of 1.4 per square kilometer compared with 255 for the UK.
Mongolia is wild and diverse with a wide choice of available activities which makes it a perfect destination for an expedition.
Our projects are all community based and tend to be concentrated around the capital as this is the area with the greatest need.
For R and R, if you haven't already done so, there are chances to trek by horse, foot or camel, to rest and relax in Terelj National Park and experience some adventure rock climbing, open canoeing or to enjoy some traditional Mongolian sports and music.
